SALT LAKE CITY /PRNewswire/ -- Linux Networx announced today the addition of two new executives as part of its long-term growth strategy to expand the company's presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and in worldwide government markets. Fabio Gallo, a 20-year veteran of the High Performance Computing (HPC) industry, is leading the company's efforts in expanding its international presence as vice president of EMEA. In this position, Gallo will manage the sales, marketing and business development efforts of EMEA. David Norton, vice president of government markets, is responsible for establishing relationships with both customers and partners, determining market needs, and turning these requirements into products and services for government customers.
Prior to joining Linux Networx, Gallo held various executive positions at Silicon Graphics Inc.'s (SGI) European organization. Among other assignments, he managed SGI's European server and supercomputing business and directed SGI's marketing and business development organizations. Prior to SGI, Gallo spent 12 years at IBM in sales and marketing management positions. Most recently, Gallo was in charge of the EMEA business for BigBangwidth Inc., a provider of high-speed optical LAN solutions.
Norton has more than 20 years of experience in HPC and has held a variety of marketing management positions. Most recently, Norton served as the HPTC technical sales manager for Quadrics Supercomputers Ltd, a supercomputer interconnect vendor. Prior to Quadrics, he was the director of HPC at Mission Critical Linux where he won new business at several significant government sites.
